Tips for Air Dry Clay
• To keep clay fresh only take what you require and re-seal the packet immediately OR remove clay from original packaging, wrap it tightly with cling wrap then store in an air tight container.

• For quicker clean up it is best to work on top of a non-porous surface such as sheet of acetate, perspex or plastic.

• Keep a small container or cup of water near by so you can easily lubricate or wet the clay if necessary and open the working time.

• Some clays can be trickier than others – if you are having issues allow a minute or two for some moisture to evaporate before using to avoid the clay sticking to working surface and tools.

• Using eucalyptus spray can help lubricate working surface and tools if the adhesion of the clay is too strong. Please note this may affect drying time.

• Ensure to use non-toxic paint when mixing with clay OR wear thin non-porous gloves if using artist quality colours.

• Pigment powder and soft pastels also effectively work to add colour and effect to white or translucent clay.

• Typically air dry clays will be touch dry within 1 – 2 hours, but complete curing can take hours to days depending on how thick the application is. Allow enough time for drying for optimum results.

• Ensure design is completely dry before painting or varnishing to avoid trapping in moisture and delaying drying time which can result in cracking.
