Matisse Acrylic Painting Medium MM9 is a pure acrylic binder used in formulating Matisse Colours and acts as the principal paint "dilutant" when not using water. Adding above 30-50% water to acrylic colours will reduce not only their colour strength but also the "binding" capacity thus it is always best to use a medium when thinning or extending.
Can also be used as a transparent primer or surface conditioner for canvas, paper or board.
