Northcote Pottery Clayworks 10kg PS5000 Earthenware/Stoneware has a very smooth, plastic, filter-pressed, 120# body. Fires to an off- white at 1100ºC, getting creamier at 1200ºC. Excellent for mid-range tableware and all throwing purposes.
It is very tolerant to firing conditions at ranges of Orton cones 03 to 7.
An excellent body for handbuilding, modelling and sculpting at earthenware to mid-fire temperatures. Provides a good base for coloured underglaze decoration or coloured glazes.
An excellent body for school students and hand building beginners looking for fine detail. Responds well to 1100ºC bisque.
